G-Loot Review

G-Loot is a Swedish platform created in 2017 that allows gamers to compete in challenges and earn money. The G-Loot app is an Overwolf app that must be run together with any of the supported games. It covers major titles such Apex Legends, Player Unknown’s Battlegrounds (PUB), Rainbow Six Siege, etc.

G-Loot Review In A Nutshell

G-Loot caters mainly for serious gamers/esport community as you will compete against solid players on major online games (public servers). The principle is pretty straightforward. After you install G-Loot via the Overwolf app, you can participate to various contests. They can be for fun (no entry fee), or for money. In case there is a payout, the gamer has to pay an entry fee in native tokens. You can purchase those G-Loot tokens on the platform with your credit card. When you win a contest, the money is credited to your account.

Although G-Loot has built a good platform, casual players will feel left out. There are no specific money earning games, e.g. mini-games to bet against oneself or other users. With G-Loot people play AAA games on public servers and get ranked. There is no possibility to make some quick bucks on the go, e.g. on a 1 min or 3 min bet on SkillGaming. Since the latter does not have the features offered by G-Loot, both complements each other quite well.

G-Loot review: Is it legal?

At this moment there is no information regarding license or legal matters (like tax) and the usage of the platform on G-Loot website. After enquiry, we were told that “Skill-based betting such as e.g fantasy sports requires a license in several jurisdictions. We know of no applicable licenses for esports competitions of the type offered by G-Loot. Instead, we keep our service in accordance with the laws local to the jurisdictions in which we promote our services.

In other words, G-Loot considers that since it only offers esports competitions, it is treated as such, and therefore is legal without holding a license (report your earnings and get taxed according to the applicable law in your jurisdiction).
